Financial Reimbursement:
Resource Families receive monthly monetary reimbursement for cost of meeting the child’s basic needs.
Training:
- Resource Families will receive an initial 27 hours of Pre-Approval Training. This training is required to help resource families understand the needs of the children placed in their care. The training is based on the belief that protecting children at risk and strengthening families requires teamwork, a shared vision and common goals.
Continuing education classes or in-service training are offered free of charge to Resource Families.
El Shaddai Foster Family Agency Support:
- 24-hour social worker support.
Weekly to bi-weekly home visits to provide support, to ensure the Resource Families and the child(children’s) needs are being met and to gather information needed to provide to the county SW and/or the Court.
Assistance with transportation if needed. El Shaddai Resource Families are required to transport to visits and other appointments unless it’s a family/employment conflict or an emergency.
Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses such as CPR/First Aid and Water Safety training, fee-based training, emergency items to meet the child’s needs when initially placed i.e. car seats and lice treatment kits. Reimbursements requests for emergency items will need agency approval.
The Agency has a close closet and other items that can be borrowed and/or taken for a child. The Agency does encourage donations back to the agency for items not needed anymore.
Training binders and monthly paperwork binders are provided to the Resource Families.
Arrangement of respite care and emergency placement changes.
